SIPA Duo Mini Stackable among the finalists for Plastic Packaging Product of the year

SIPA S.p.A. Vittorio Veneto, Italy

This packaging has been created with the aim to make the most out of recycled materials and from the greenest technology for packaging production. SIPA DUO Ministackable is the smallest and lightest stackable bottle in the world made with 100% recycled plastic. This pack is designed for all types of dry foods: cerelas, rice, legumes, sweets, dried fruits. SIPA DUO is extremely light, only 7.6g, and made from 100% recycled plastic with a unique design that allows to save space thanks to its stackability.

“It is for us extremely significant to get recognition for this packaging that is a concentrate of innovation and technology. The bottle has been created starting from a 100% recycled PET preform made with SIPA Xtreme Renew platform. SIPA Xtreme Renew is today the most innovative technology to produce PET preforms from hot washed flakes. The result of this unique technology is a ultra-lightweight preform that has been used to blow this mini-stackable bottle. SIPA Duo Mini Stackable was shortlisted today as finalist for Plastic Packaging Product of the year category.  It is also important to mention that RecyClass analysis had to be performed in order to submit the packaging product. Our packaging resulted to be RecyClass grade A so very much eligible to apply,” said  Sipa’s Packaging Development Manager.

SIPA has always been at the forefront in the development of sustainable solutions for the production of plastic packaging with the constant introduction of innovations aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of its machines and packaging products. This occurs not only by increasing the efficiency of its systems and reducing energy, compressed air and water consumption but above all through the development of technologies that can process recycled plastic directly from flakes, as in the case of Xtreme Renew.

This offering is backed up by a comprehensive design service that helps customers take early ideas about containers all the way through drawings, virtual and real prototypes – functional as well as decorative – testing and validation, through to the definite container.

The Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2021 winners will be announced on 5 November, during the second day of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe taking place at the RAI Amsterdam.

Open to organisations and individuals across Europe who are involved in the recycling of plastic materials, the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe are organised jointly by Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) and Crain Communications, organisers of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe.
