To explore how these challenges can be collectively addressed, Circular Plastics NL (CPNL) is organizing a webinar on September 2, 2025, focusing on infrastructure, investment tools, and the industrial ecosystem, and why broader international and cross-sectoral collaboration is needed to build viable consortia and speed up implementation. The session is part of CPNL’s effort to bring together industry, research, and government. By supporting co-funded projects and aligning ecosystem partners, the program contributes to closing plastic material loops by 2030.
Advanced Recycling
Free webinar: Scaling advanced recycling in the Netherlands
Opportunities, bottlenecks & the call for collaboration in upcoming CPNL Webinar.
As the transition toward a circular plastics economy gains momentum, chemical depolymerization and thermochemical recycling technologies are emerging as key solutions for turning complex plastic waste into high-quality materials. However, scaling these innovations remains challenging due to high capital costs, feedstock limitations, and ongoing regulatory and market uncertainties.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Oscar van Veenhuizen, Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, on supporting the scaling of advanced plastics recycling technologies
- Jan Willem Slijkoord, Circular Plastics NL, on market developments and the role of strategic collaboration
- Jan Georg Rosenboom, MarcoCycle (USA), on depolymerization and scale-up in PET
- Verpact (NL), on packaging related feedstock and the collection system
- Marc Prevoo from Synova (NL) on depolymerization and scale-up in polystyrene
The event is relevant for professionals involved in circular innovation and finance, thermochemical recycling (PE, PP, PS), chemical depolymerization (PET, PA, PU), plastic production and conversion (packaging, textiles, automotive, construction), feedstock and waste management organizations. Participation is free of charge.

About Circular Plastics NL
The National Growth Fund program Circular Plastics NL (CPNL) enables the Dutch industry and research communities to collaborate on accelerating the transition to circular plastics. Its activities focus on technological innovation and closing the loop across the plastic value chain.
The goal is to make plastics circular and use public investment (subsidies) to speed up the transition. Running through 2030, the program supports the development and implementation of solutions to close cycles for existing plastics.
The CPNL office, led by managing director Marc Spekreijse, is governed by an executive board and supported by a program council and an international advisory board. Together, they ensure operational alignment with the Ministry and oversee the coordination of calls for proposals, policy development, and European initiatives.
