In the field of beverage industry, sustainability plays an important role and mainly involves the packaging.
Technological innovation plays a crucial role in helping bottling companies choose packaging solutions that reduce waste and optimize resources, as the experience of the company Bebidas Refrescanteds de Nogales (BRN) an important bottler in Mexico part of the Mexican Coca-Cola company, shows.
In order to meet these needs, the company installed within the PET bottles production and bottling line a new SMI packer from the CSK 40 F ERGON series, equipped with a methane gas shrink tunnel.
The installed solution immediately looked the most suitable choice as the cutting-edge CSK packaging machines stand out for energy saving, respect for the environment, advanced automation and flexibility of use.
The advantages of SMI solution
- packer equipped with motorized system of oscillating guides situated at the machine infeed to facilitate the channeling of loose products on the conveyor, equipped with chains made of thermoplastic material featuring low friction co-efficient;
high efficiency motors attached directly to the drive shaft with the consequent advantage of reducing maintenance, energy waste and noise;
compact film cutting unit, with film cutting blade driven by “direct-drive” brushless motorization which makes the cutting more precise and the maintenance easier;
new ICOS brushless motors, equipped with integrated digital servo-driver, able to simplify machine cabling and ensure greater energy efficiency, less noise and reduced component wear and tear;
machine equipped with shrink-tunnel driven by methane gas, an innovative technological solution with low environmental impact, thanks to low CO2 emissions, that reduces costs for electricity supply, reaches the deal temperature more quickly than the ones fuelled by electricity, ensures a reduced maintenance and enables to use a thinner film, thanks to the heat distribution improvement.
