Mitsubishi Polyester Film launches new PET film line in Wiesbaden
The new PET film plant of Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Europe GmbH, commenced operations at the beginning of 2026 following a two-year construction phase. With a capacity of 27,000 tons, the production volume at the Wiesbaden/Germany site increases to 75,000 tons of HOSTAPHAN™ PET film per year.
A new feature is the efficient automatic packaging station for various packaging systems.
A water-based coating expands the extensive product portfolio of HOSTAPHAN™ films. In addition, the equipment of the new plant enables Mitsubishi Polyester Film to expand its PCR film program.
Internal mechanical recycling prevents waste and makes internal production scrap recyclable.
