In this year's EcoVadis sustainability assessment, Krones has reached a new milestone in its sustainability journey. With a score of 91 out of a possible 100 points, the company improved its result for the sixth consecutive year (previous year: 80 points). Following three consecutive Gold Medals, Krones has now advanced to the highest recognition category for the first time: Platinum. As a result, the company ranks among the top one percent of more than 150,000 companies assessed worldwide.
The most significant improvement was achieved in the Environment category, where Krones scored 96 out of 100 points, substantially exceeding the previous year's score of 85 points. This means the company is now almost fully utilizing the rating potential in this category.
Group-wide Structures and Clear Standards
“Sustainability at Krones is no longer managed exclusively from our corporate headquarters,” explains Martina Birk. “Our teams at subsidiaries and international locations are driving implementation locally, sharing experiences and jointly refining successful approaches. This close collaboration helps us establish high standards worldwide and continuously improve our ESG performance.”
According to Martina Birk, Head of Sustainability at Krones, the improved rating result is primarily at-tributable to the systematic integration of ESG aspects throughout the Group (ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance). Over the past several years, Krones has continuously expanded both its sustainability organization and the associated management tools. Today, the company has an international network of sustainability experts with clearly defined responsibilities across all regions.
