Recycling of PET on the Co-Rotating Twin Screw Extruder

Coperion has been manufacturing twin screw extruders for the plastics for more than 60 years. The ZSK is the suitable twin screw for the processing and recycling of PET. Due to the high torque, the PET can be processed very gently at low screw speeds, and due to the large free volume, even high amounts of volatile components can be degassed safely.

CMG Granulators introduces the largest granulation system of the category, with capacity of 6.500 kg/h. Starting from the granulator unit model EV916, featuring a new state-of-the-art cutting chamber design, the system represents the latest solution innovation for plastics recyclers.
Additionally, the system is composed of evacuation cyclone with integral dedusting chamber and air/powder automatic filtration system. Also, the dimensions of the system are outstanding: 8 meters tall, with a footprint of 3 by 8 meters.

DePoly‘s Recycling Technology

DePoly has developed a process that converts unsorted, dirty, post-consumer PET plastic items into virgin raw materials. DePoly’s depolymerisation technology breaks down PET plastic into its monomers, purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG). This hydrolysis-based advanced recycling method has all the benefits of virgin product without the production impact of fossil fuels.
The DePoly process uses environmentally friendly chemicals and requires no pre-washing, sorting or separation. In addition, unlike the harsh requirements of other hydrolysis methods, such as high temperatures and long times, DePoly technology does not require the addition of heat or pressure. Our technology is highly selective to process PET plastic, even when mixed with other plastics such as PE and PP. 100% recycled PET monomers can then be sold back to various industries to make new virgin PET products.
