Starlinger & Co Gesellschaft m.b.H. Wien/Weissenbach, Austria

At Starlinger & Co. Gesellschaft m.b.H., world market leader in the field of flexible woven plastic packaging and PET recycling and refinement, a change in management has taken place. Richard Müssler has decided for personal reasons to resign from the company’s management. Sven Wolf, whose career has included positions as managing director of Theysohn and of Technoplast, has been appointed managing director and will take over the technical management of Starlinger & Co. GmbH. in Weissenbach/Triesting. Citing personal reasons, Richard Müssler recently made known his decision to resign after five years as technical managing director of Starlinger & Co. GmbH in Weissenbach. Mr. Müssler has played an important role in the company’s recent history and its development since 2005. During his tenure, the greater part of the product range in both the packaging and the recycling sector was updated and new products were successfully launched and marketed worldwide. “Richard Müssler laid an excellent foundation during these years for Starlinger’s future growth and the achievement of our global aims. We are grateful for his contribution, but we have to accept his decision,” says Angelika Huemer, managing partner of Starlinger. Mr. Müssler will remain with the company until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition in the technical management. Succeeding him as of November 1, 2009 is Mr. Sven Wolf, lately managing director of Stratics GmbH. Mr. Wolf, 43, received his graduate engineering degree in plastics technology from Austria’s Montanuniversität Leoben. Stations of his career include positions with Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH., Theysohn Extrusionstechnik, and with Technoplast as managing director. In Sven Wolf, Starlinger has enlisted a new managing director with proven expertise in the plastics machinery field, who together with the management team will work towards expanding Starlinger’s market advantage with strategic product initiatives. “Nowadays, technical products have to provide obvious added value for the customer in order to succeed in international competition. That’s why it’s very important to me to bring sales and technology together in a way that makes maximum use of their synergy,” Sven Wolf emphasises. The married father of two sons, who is also a lecturer at the Technikum College in Vienna, has more ambitious plans as well, among them the intensification of Starlinger’s participation in the networks of the international plastics industry and the realisation of the company’s bold technical goals.
