TotalEnergies Corbion announces Olivier de Linares as plant director in Rayong, Thailand

TotalEnergies Corbion, makers of Luminy® sustainable PLA bioplastics, announces Olivier de Linares as PLA production plant director in Rayong, Thailand. De Linares will be responsible for overseeing the continuation of the company’s safe operations, product quality, and reliable supply to customers.

De Linares brings a strong focus on operational excellence with more than 17 years of experience in leadership roles at TotalEnergies. Originally from France, he concluded is studies in process engineering from Ecole des Mines de Paris in 1997 after graduating from the French Ecole Polytechnique with a degree in engineering.

De Linares’ predecessor Simon Goldney, who oversaw the plant's development and first five years of production, will continue his career at TotalEnergies.

"Simon Goldney has been instrumental in transforming our company from an engineering study to a world-class PLA plant operation led by a highly capable industrial team. We thank Simon for his exceptional leadership in the successful launch and ongoing management of our 75kT/year plant in Thailand. While his presence will be missed at TotalEnergies Corbion, we recognize that it's time for him to pursue the next phase of his TotalEnergies career. His valuable contributions to reliability, quality, stability, and safety will have a lasting impact. We will also fondly remember him as a stellar colleague and dedicated team player," commented Thomas Philipon, CEO of TotalEnergies Corbion. "With enthusiasm, we welcome Olivier de Linares as the new director of our Thailand operations, and we extend our best wishes for his continued success."

Inspired after receiving a regional award at the “Olympiades Nationales de la Chimie” at age 18, De Linares has dedicated his career to operational efficiency and safety. He states:

“Safety has always been a core value in my career, it originates from my very first family and professional experiences. This is also the top priority for all the staff who operate the plant. I look forward to continuing the excellence left behind by my colleague Simon Goldney. And, to develop further new Luminy® PLA properties and biodegradation, as well as developing further closed loop recycling PLA streams to reduce further the carbon footprint of Luminy® PLA.”

Olivier de Linares officially began his new role on 22nd of August 2023.
