Sale of Poly Recycling to Resilux

0:56 min
Weinfelden, Switzerland

Poly Recycling in Weinfelden, a plastics recycling division that reprocess PET bottles, has been sold to Resilux. As a manufacturer of PET preforms and bottles, Resilux is the largest customer for recycled PET in Switzerland. The company is expanding its business model with the synergies generated by the acquisition of Poly Recycling. Resilux takes over the operation at the Weinfelden site as of 1st of October 2017 with all employees and current contracts with customers and suppliers. The parties have agreed not to disclose the selling price.

The operational management team will remain with the current General Manager of Poly Recycling, Casper van den Dungen. He comments on the sale: "We have been considering the future strategy of Poly Recycling for some time now. Accordingly, we have examined various options and have now reached an agreement with our long-standing major customer Resilux. This enables us to hand over operations to a reliable partner whose core business is PET processing, and who can thus take advantage of the corresponding synergies."

PET Recycling Schweiz (PRS), which is responsible for the collection of PET bottles in Switzerland, is also satisfied with the takeover. PRS Managing Director Jean-Claude Würmli comments: "When it comes to PET recycling in Switzerland, our core concern is that the cycle should remain closed in the future, so that we can continue to make the best possible contribution to ecologically committed Switzerland for over 25 years. We are convinced that this concern is also in the best hands with Resilux "
