First Showing For MVPlus Melt Viscometer and Force Tester

2:58 min
Fareham, Hants, UK

Chinaplas 2008 will provide the first opportunity in the People's Republic of China to see Lloyd Instruments' new DavenportT MVPlus Melt Viscometer and the ChatillonR TCD225 Series Digital Force Tester.  Also on show will be the FTPlus friction tester, the HDT/ VICATPlus instrument for determining the temperature of deflection of  thermoplastic samples and MFI-10 Melt Flow Indexer from the company's range of plastic and polymer test instruments. The 5kN LRXPlus (equipped with an EX800Plus long travel extensometer) and 10kN LR10KPlus materials testing machines complete the impressive range of equipment on show for testing plastics, packaging, rubber and more. The new MVPlus Melt Viscometer uses a unique solvent-free method for the measurement of intrinsic viscosity (IV) of PET and is available in stand-alone or computer-controlled versions. In addition to the proven environmentally friendly operating method, its compact construction occupies significantly less bench space than earlier models and makes it easier and quicker to load samples. The MVPlus is very user-friendly and features an integral nitrogen regulation valve so that nitrogen pressure can be controlled at the instrument itself. The new Chatillon TCD225 Series Digital Force Tester (1 kN / 225 lbf) is an advanced, stand-alone force testing system optimized for production, quality control and engineering applications. It features a rugged frame with high-performance, closed-loop motion control and an intelligent load sensing system with measuring accuracies better than 0.1% full scale. Standard test setups include load limits, distance limits, time limits, break tests, rupture tests, cycling and loop tests, while an innovative multi-stage testing function allows customer test set-ups to be created with no external PC control or software.  The TCD225 force tester also contains Chinese and Korean language display options as standard. The FTPlus is a dedicated, high accuracy, bench-mounted single lead screw friction tester, which conforms to the requirements of the key international friction testing standards, ASTM D1894, ISO 8295 and TAPPI T549. The FTPlus can be used for measurements of static and kinetic coefficients of friction, peak load and average load. The LRXPlus and LR10KPlus machines provide versatile materials testing capabilities at forces up to 5 kN, and 10 kN respectively. The LRXPlus will be fitted with an EX800Plus contacting extensometer for the accurate extension measurement of materials such as semirigid plastics, elastomers and rubbers. It can be used to test high elongation materials to yield and break in full accordance with ISO 9513: 2002.
