The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the creation of a joint venture EPL Ltd., including Indovida India, both of India, by Indorama Netherlands B.V. of the Netherlands, controlled by Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (‘Indorama') of Thailand, and Epsilon Bidco Pte. Ltd. of Singapore, controlled by Blackstone Inc. of the US.

The transaction relates to the manufacturing and sale of plastic packaging products and PET materials.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies' limited combined market position resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.

More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.12457.
