This pathway moves recyclable packaging from consumers’ tables into a closed loop, where it is recovered, transported, and given new life, helping keep PET bottles within the value chain and out of landfills and waterways.
Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP), the bottling partner and official distributor of Coca-Cola products in the country, has been helping build better PET collection and recycling infrastructure through wide-reaching and community-based partnerships.
At the forefront of these efforts is Tapon to Ipon, a nationwide collection program by the Coca-Cola system that empowers communities and supports local solid waste management systems. The program establishes accessible collection points for PET bottles of any brand, in partnership with organizations and local government units (LGUs).
Closing the loop on recyclable PET packaging is PETValue Philippines, the country’s pioneering bottle‑to‑bottle recycling facility located in Cavite, and CCEAP’s joint venture with global sustainable chemical company Indorama Ventures—the world’s largest recycler of PET for beverages.
