In Frauenfeld, Veolia is using artificial intelligence to improve input quality and an additional extruder to produce food-grade rPET. In Norrköping, a hall extension and a new extruder will increase the output of high-quality pellets. With these investments, the company expects to increase its production of food-grade rPet by around 30%.
"In Scandinavia and Switzerland in particular, the collection systems create crucial conditions for a closed PET cycle," explains Guido Adomßent, CEO of the Veolia Umweltservice Group. "In Sweden, for example, there are mandatory requirements for the design of PET bottles that can be sold. This leads to a very high quality of recycling, which in turn leads to a high quality of recyclate.
