According to the company, the CO2 footprint per filled bottle was reduced to 75 grams in 2019, which is a decrease of 26% compared to four years earlier.
Since March of this year, all Vöslauer PET bottles consist of 100% rePET, the company's term for recycled PET. In 2018 Vöslauer developed the first PET bottle made from 100% rePET; Vöslauer sees this as a milestone in the direction of the circular economy.
In order to raise awareness and inform about rePET, Vöslauer, together with cooperation partners, created the website www.repet.com.
Vöslauer has been publishing sustainability reports regularly since 2008 to underline the sustainable engagement of the company. The recently published edition looks at the years 2018 and 2019 and announces that the company has been the first CO2-neutral mineral water bottler in Austria since the beginning of 2020.
