The company has dedicated itself to technological research and development, and in 1988, this dynamic enterprise specialised in manufacturing extrusion machines for PC, PP, PS, PE and PVC sheets and films. In 1992 they added hollow grid sheet extruders as well as multi-layer co-extruders and multi-layer lamination extruders to their product range.
Over 50% of STC's system components are European made and successfully sold all over the world, especially in Asia and Europe. According to Lim Meng Wee, general manager of Motan Pte. Ltd. Singapore, this is based on two facts: First, STC is a very forward looking company that emphasize strongly on reliability and quality in their extruders for the international extrusion market and second, the company's name has gained a very good reputation in the industry sector.
Since June 2006, STC equips its extrusion systems with Motan GRAVICOLOR units. These units blend and dose up to six materials and with maximum accuracy of blend. The modular gravimetric blenders are designed for injection, blow moulding and extrusion and provide throughputs up to 2200 kg/h.
The cooperation started in 2006 when STC contacted Motan at the NPE in Chicago. Subsequently, Motan Pte. Ltd. submitted a quotation and by the end of June 2006, the first three GRAVICOLOR 600 were ordered. Chou Chun An's reasons for the decision: Motan gained the contract because of the fast quotation, the competitive prices and the availability of a global service network. We are international suppliers. That's why we need a local contact and a reliable service worldwide.
Following the delivery of the first order, Motan provided an intensive, three-day product training for STC's personnel. Now, STC's engineers professionally commission and set up the GRAVICOLOR units.
Right from the start, STC was satisfied with the good performance of the GRAVICOLOR blenders as well as the after sales support provided. In January 2007 a second order followed for one GRAVICOLOR 600 and one GRAVICOLOR 300; another special GRAVICOLOR 600 with insulated hoppers was sold in July 2007 for PC sheet application.
Mr. Chou Chun An's comments: Our customers are very happy with the performance of the Motan gravimetric blenders. Moreover, the GRAVInet control features one of the most advanced technologies that use Graphical User Interface (GUI) making it very easy for the end users to operate with its colour touch screen control panel. The user benefits from the consistent mixing quality and, at the same time, saves additives. The control is very user friendly and able to generate reports for better control and material management. To cater to STC’s requirements, Motan specially created a GRAVInet control with Chinese characters that is user selectable in addition to the standard English and German language.
