Scheduled change of leadership at MHT Mold & Hotrunner Technology AG (Hochheim / Main, Germany): With effect from January 1, 2015, the supervisory board has appointed Christian Wagner to take over from Werner Plass in the position of Technical and Sales Director.

At the end of this year, Werner Plass, 63, a major figure in the creation of MHT, will leave to enjoy his well-earned retirement, but will continue to maintain close links with the company. Over the next few months, Christian Wagner, 42, will gradually take over all of his responsibilities, to ensure a seamless transition within MHT's management team. With his many years of experience in PET preform toolmaking and application technology, Christian Wagner is the ideal candidate to take over this role. Working closely with Christoph Kückels – who has served for many years as Finance Director – he will actively shape the company's future strategic orientation. Along with 10 partners, Werner Plass founded MHT, a specialist supplier of PET preform tools, in 1998 and has since then been instrumental in shaping its development. Today, the medium-sized company has five production and service sites in Germany, North and South America and Asia and supplies clients in more than 100 different countries.  Werner Plass is a well-known technical expert in the field of PET. It was under his direction that the first 144-cavity (2001) and 192-cavity (2004) tools were developed. They were the first tools anywhere in the world with such high cavity numbers in productive operation. In the future, this technical expertise will be embodied by Christian Wagner. With a postgraduate engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in machine tooling, he has worked for MHT since its inception. He has been responsible for the end-to-end tool development process and all patent matters. Until recently, he was running MHT's US subsidiary as CEO. This position has given him a wealth of experience in technical sales and will help him to make the most of MHT's growth potential in his new position.
