Torus is delighted to announce that Torus Measurement Systems has recently completed a successful audit against the new ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Torus Measurement Systems Ltd (then Trac Measurement Systems Ltd) initially achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in 2002. Following this, Torus gained ISO 17025 (UKAS) accreditation in 2003. At the beginning of 2016 BSI released a new standard; ISO 9001:2015. BSI has given businesses until September 2018 to transition to this new standard in order to maintain their accreditation. The new standard will allow Torus Measurement Systems to continually improve their quality management system which impacts how they do business, both internally and externally. It also acts as a tool to implement strategic direction and identify process risks as well as placing a greater emphasis on leadership and commitment.

Group Quality Systems Manager, Paul Wood speaks about the benefits of the new standard, “Going forward, the new standard enhances the focus on risk-based thinking for us. Whilst this has always been part of the accreditation, the new version gives it increased prominence. It also puts a greater emphasis on leadership engagement, assisting us in identifying and addressing organizational risks and opportunities in a structured manner. The management of our supply chain can also be more effectively monitored and controlled.”
