adphos NIR based IPS (in-line paint section) begins to coat and cure coils in Italy and Indonesia

   adphos patented NIR technology is the only truly instant drying and curing technology allowing complete coil coating and curing on-demand in the coil production process. Due to this many of the recently commissioned combined galvanizing and organic coating lines have been engineered with the adphosNIR®-based instant drying/curing technology. Recently the Bluescope Steel operation in Indonesia has begun commercial production, (its building program was delayed in 2009/2010 by the financial crisis). The adphosNIR®-based instant curing system allows a start/stop coating operation at speeds up to 180 m/min and, with the integrated modular solutions provided by adphos results in best-in-field energy consumption.Another fully adphosNIR®-based IPS-line – the world most powerful - a combi-line on the east coast in northern Italy will be ready for commissioning by the end of June 2011. It is expected to be starting coil coating production later in the 2nd half of the year. This adphosNIR®-based IPS allows coil coating production up to 65 tonnes/hour with max. process speeds up to 180 m/min (annual organic coating capacity more than 400,000 tonnes/annum). In the future these adphosNIR® IPS solutions will be the benchmark for low energy consumption and minimum possible carbon emissions; as well as for financial savings on conversion costs for prepainted metal coils (possibly 100 €/tonne savings).
