Online Viscometer – the solution for reliable viscosity measurement

2:10 min PET recycling systems
Bad Oeynhausen, Germany

Gneuss Kunststofftechnik, the worldwide technology leader in the field of polymer melt filtration will present the Gneuss Online Viscometer for monitoring and logging of the rheological melt parameters.Processing TechnologyOnline ViscometerGneuss has developed a compact unit for monitoring and recording of the rheological parameters. The Online Viscometer is designed with an extremely compact housing for installation for example between flanges. The melt channel can be specified to match the existing melt channel diameter between 20 and 110 mm. The unit is supplied complete with pump, pump drive, pressure transducers, temperature sensors and the control, evaluation and visualisation system. The adjustment of the processing parameters, evaluation and visualisation is carried out via a user – friendly operator interface (touch panel). The electrical equipment can of course be incorporated in an existing control system. The unit monitors and display the values for viscosity and shear rate in addition to monitoring the melt temperatures and pressures. The Online Viscometer offers the following advantages: Short residence time, no dead spots, no deposits in any of the melt channels. The measurement in a square cross section capillary excludes the influence of elastic properties of the polymer. The measurement is carried out in bypass – no polymer loss. Minimum temperature deviation (< 2°C) among all parts in contact with the melt. Complete cleaning of all parts in contact with the melt possible without stopping or disturbing the process. Extremely compact design, flexible adaptation to existing melt pipe or extrusion line.INDEX 2008 / Booth 4112
