heat 11 has received in April another major order for the supply of a heater for a chemical plant in England. For the plant to produce PET-plastic materials, company Uhde Inventa Fischer GmbH ordered a heater with a capacity of about 15 megawatt.

The delivery includes a gas fired heater (type FH-T 17.000 vertical) for heating of a plant in the chemical industry to produce plastic (PET). The scope of supply contains a gas fired boiler, firing system, chimney and a waste heat recovery unit to preheat the combustion air. With this efficiency-enhancing conception the efficiency of the heater is above 90 %. The plant is located in the North of England, purchaser is the Berlin company Uhde Inventa Fischer GmbH, a Thyssen-Krupp subsidiary.

The boiler supplied by heat 11 is about 16 m high, has a diameter of approx. 3,50 m and disposes of a heating capacity of 15.000 kilowatt. With this capacity, more than 700 single family houses could be supplied with heating.

The design of the entire plant is as per SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) - one of the highest safety standards in mechanical engineering. Safety equipment and components e.g. have to be present at least three times.

Another special feature of the plant lies in the entire redundant design of the burner plant. So all fuel lines, blowers and control fittings are doubled and therefore allow a so-called “on-the-fly-change” between the parts of the plant.

Heater with waste heat recovery units are part of the heat 11 range of products to increase the energy efficiency which also includes plants for solar thermal power plants as well as the generation and treatment of heat, electricity and gas from biomass.
