Due to the 25th anniversary of the founding of Gneuss Kunststofftechnik GmbH, this year´s Polyester Recycling Forum, organised by Dr. Thiele will take place on October 1st in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany.Over the years, the reprocessing of PET bottle flake has changed considerably. The quality of bottle flake has improved and the supply has become reliable, the available quantity has increased. In the past, the processors of bottle flake had to battle with varying quality and patchy availability and were pleased to be able to process PET bottle flake to relatively simple final products using a relatively narrow range of available equipment and benefitted from being pioneers in their field.Nowadays, PET bottle flake is can be considered a second tier raw material and many technologies are available for processing it. The processing of PET bottle flake can be considered as established technology. Consequently, the challenge is now to a) make as efficient use of bottle flake as with virgin material and b) to use bottle flake for more challenging applications in order to ensure healthy margins for the processor. Therefore, the selection of equipment and strategic positioning for the future are more important than ever to the processor of PET bottle flake.New Technologies and Case Examples will be presented at the Polyester Recycling Forum.Gneuss Kunststofftechnik´s contribution to the PRF will be a presentation on “Filtration and Devolalilisation: two Key Factors in Polyester Recycling” which will explain the most innovative technology for the direct processing of undried PET bottle flakes with the new, patented MRS Multi Rotation System extruder MRS together with the fully automatic, process and pressure constant melt filtration systems RSFgenius and SFXmagnus on the basis of case examples.Since 2002, the Polyester Recycling Forum takes place annually in different countries all over the world with the intention to provide an insight into the field of Polyester Recycling and to allow the customers to inform themselves in a direct, personal and close way about new trends and technologies in this field.Major shifts and changes are taking place on the world market within all sections of the polyester recycling chain. Due to the extremely high demand from the explosive Chinese textile industry, materials and distribution channels are changing. The best chances to protect the local PET flake processing industry are if this material can be processed to higher value products instead of standard products such as staple fibres. The companies, which will be meeting at the PRF will present the latest technology and processing equipment for cost reductions in the processing of PET bottle flakes and value addition of the final products. Here is an overview of the topics: What shall we do with 1.5mn tonnes of bottles? Due to the 25th anniversary of the founding of Gneuss Kunststofftechnik GmbH, this year´s Polyester Recycling Forum, organised by Dr. Thiele will take place on October 1st in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany.

Over the years, the reprocessing of PET bottle flake has changed considerably. The quality of bottle flake has improved and the supply has become reliable, the available quantity has increased.

In the past, the processors of bottle flake had to battle with varying quality and patchy availability and were pleased to be able to process PET bottle flake to relatively simple final products using a relatively narrow range of available equipment and benefitted from being pioneers in their field.

Nowadays, PET bottle flake is can be considered a second tier raw material and many technologies are available for processing it. The processing of PET bottle flake can be considered as established technology. Consequently, the challenge is now to a) make as efficient use of bottle flake as with virgin material and b) to use bottle flake for more challenging applications in order to ensure healthy margins for the processor.

Therefore, the selection of equipment and strategic positioning for the future are more important than ever to the processor of PET bottle flake.

New Technologies and Case Examples will be presented at the Polyester Recycling Forum.

Gneuss Kunststofftechnik´s contribution to the PRF will be a presentation on “Filtration and Devolalilisation: two Key Factors in Polyester Recycling” which will explain the most innovative technology for the direct processing of undried PET bottle flakes with the new, patented MRS Multi Rotation System extruder MRS together with the fully automatic, process and pressure constant melt filtration systems RSFgenius and SFXmagnus on the basis of case examples.

Since 2002, the Polyester Recycling Forum takes place annually in different countries all over the world with the intention to provide an insight into the field of Polyester Recycling and to allow the customers to inform themselves in a direct, personal and close way about new trends and technologies in this field.

Major shifts and changes are taking place on the world market within all sections of the polyester recycling chain.
